1What is MVKing?
MVKing is a video discovery engine built on top of YouTube. We don't host videos — we find the ones worth watching and surface them before they blow up. Instead of feeding you more of what you already watch, we show you what is trending and rising across topics, countries and languages.
2Why does it exist?
Recommendation algorithms are great at one thing: showing you more of the same. They optimize for watch time, so you stay comfortably inside your bubble.
MVKing exists for the opposite reason — to help you step outside your bubble. See what's rising in Japan, Korea, India or Brazil before it reaches your home feed. Discover creators and topics you'd otherwise never encounter, without endless scrolling.
3How are videos selected?
We combine data from the YouTube API with our own ranking logic. Three views of the feed help you find different kinds of videos:
- TrendingWhat's hot right now across regions and categories.
- RisingVideos breaking out — high view velocity and engagement relative to how new they are, not just raw size.
- For YouTailored to your chosen languages, categories and viewing history.
We filter out content we don't want to promote (for example politics/news) and mark videos that are no longer playable so the feed stays clean.
4Is MVKing affiliated with YouTube?
No. MVKing is an independent project. We link to publicly available YouTube content and use the official YouTube API, but we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by YouTube or Google.
5How do recommendations work?
We want recommendations you can understand and control. When you personalize your feed, we ask about the categories and languages you care about — and how much unfamiliar content you want. Those preferences, plus your viewing history and saved videos, shape what we surface. There is no hidden black box: what you tell us is what you get.
6Who runs MVKing?
