How MVK Score Works

MVK Score estimates how strongly a video is standing out right now.

What it measures

Every video on MVKing gets an MVK Score from 0 to 100. It is a discovery signal — a way to rank what is most worth watching right now — not a prediction of future popularity.

The signals behind it

  • Reach relative to ageHow fast a video is being watched compared with videos of the same age — a 12-hour-old video and a 5-day-old video are never compared raw.
  • FreshnessNewer videos score higher so yesterday’s breakouts are not buried under years-old giants.
  • EngagementLike and comment rates, smoothed so tiny sample sizes cannot fake a high score.
  • Standout performanceHow a video performs versus peers in the same language, category and age group. Exceptional for its niche means exceptional overall.
  • ConfidenceHow much data we have behind a judgement. Low-view or brand-new uploads are scored conservatively.

Rising vs MVK Score

The 🔥 Rising badge highlights videos whose momentum is unusually strong — heavy weight on freshness and reach relative to age. A video can have a solid MVK Score without Rising, and vice versa.

Why trust it?

MVKing explains the main signals behind discovery and gives you control over what shapes your feed. Scores are computed from current public YouTube metrics plus peer comparisons — every explanation you see (“Top 5% for its age”, “Strong engagement”) is derived directly from those signals.
